On Aug. 27, Bishop Kevin Vann officially dedicated the Blessed Imelda Convent in South Arlington.
The convent is now home to four sisters of the Vietnamese Dominican Sisters of the Province of Mary Immaculate from Houston.
Two of the sisters who live there also teach at Holy Rosary. Sr. Angela Pham, who teaches upper school religion, and Sr. Maria Goretti Ta, who is the kindergarten aide, joined the two sisters who work at St. George Catholic School in Fort Worth, St. Joseph's pastor Father Daniel Kelley and nearly 40 sisters from Houston, along with other Vietnamese priests and religious and at the dedication blessing.
Also attending were Holy Rosary grandparents, Ben and Mary Frances Doskocil, to whom the Bishop expressed words of gratitude. He also thanked their family for their presence and assistance.
On his blog, Bishiop Vann called it a "most joyful occasion."
