Lydia Bernal

Mrs. Bernal attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a BA in English and a minor in Math. She holds a Texas Teaching Certificate for Secondary Education ELA and Computer Literacy. She’s taught and worked other education-related positions at various grade levels in Wharton ISD, Duncanville ISD, and Mansfield ISD (all in Texas).

Mrs. Bernal and her family are parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family enjoys bowling, putt-putt golf, and spring/summer travels across the United States. Mrs. Bernal’s varied sports interests include cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers with her son and husband and watching the Dallas Cowboys for her son. However, her true sports loves are the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers, and UT Longhorn Football.

This is Mrs. Bernal’s second year at St. Joseph. Last year, she was a Pre-K Aide. This year, she is the 4th/5th grade ELA Teacher. Her son Matthew is an 8th grader here as well.
